I promised my blog post to share with you today... and I’m working out the kinks on my website. SO I’m going to do something a little different and just post it down below for you to read; I hope this gives you some peace that you are not alone💗 I was a new mom, freshly 20. I was so excited to love this brand new tiny human and be the best possible example for her. My sweet little Macy. I was so excited to spend my days with her at home! And for a year, that's exactly what I got to do. Then something began to tug at my heart. It belonged to my family, and I loved my baby fiercely, but I wanted more. I wanted to use my God-given skills, talents, and desires. So I began my business. I loved working with my hands and feeling so satisfied with a finished product and even more honored when someone would buy it and display it in their home. But I got lonely. Really lonely. And here is where I open up to you and share my heart, my story, and my desire. I spent many long nights walking the dimly lit sidewalks on campus. I was in college with my new hubby and my time away was late in the evening and into the night when Cody was home with our daughter. I didn't have many friends.. my baby girl had become my life. And I was starting a business all on my own and it was exciting, but also terrifying. I was scared, lonely, and didn't know who to turn to with the hundreds of questions and new ideas churning in my head. And I didn't know how to prioritize my time with my family and when to go out to my shop ( a tiny tin shed) and work. So I spent so. Much. Time. Working. It ate me up inside that I wasn't spending enough time with my family. And the feeling of being alone was haunting me. Most every night I would go to bed very late crying. And my sweet loving man was there to console me. Guys. This happened for far too many days. And nights. And even more days. I wouldn't wish this heavy ache on my worst enemy. But why did I feel so alone and aimless? Then one night I had a dream. I’ll post the rest tomorrow, stay tuned💗

“Even though we both had slow and long mornings today just being together makes it better already.” Cody hugged me as we watched Macy run off to the playground yesterday evening. He was right. I had a crummy morning and afternoon, but just being with him immediately made me feel so much better. It may sound sappy, but it’s true. Waking up to the task of making my girls feel loved, clean, & fed is just the basics and sometimes it’s a daunting task. Day after day doing this by myself at home alone while also trying to get a business off the ground is straight up overwhelming at times. And I’m not trying to get you to feel sorry for me! BUT, if there is even one other person out there who feels as lonely as me on this journey then that’s too many people. We need community. We thrive around others going through the same thing. I tell you all of that to say this: I’m want to fight for the lonely. For the brave entrepreneurs at home fighting to make a living. For those who refuse to work a 9-5 job. For the renegades. For the pioneers who want to cut their own path. Be an example and mentor for their kids. I’m going to start a blog, called “starting a business for the totally unqualified” and I hope it gives you encouragement and motivation to press forward. Hello friends. I was going to post my website release yesterday, and things went crazy. My sweet baby girl wanted to be held and needed a little extra love so I put work aside to snuggle with her. So I’ve been working on some inspirational coasters and magnets.. and to be completely honest I’m not super happy with them. I stayed up late last night trying to keep the pant from bleeding on the wood... ugh!! Have you ever had a project go not quite as planned?? Making time to make new pieces and experiment while keeping up on social media and cleaning the house and keeping the kids entertained and fed and happy is actually pretty hard! In these moments I’m in awe of how my mom did all of this and more. I have to say I’m pretty humbled by the awesome role models in my life like her! So if you’re an entrepreneur at home, please know you’re amazing.
